Our Valued Guests And Their Stories
Dear Sha Nan,
On behalf of my dad and my family, I would like to thank everyone in Charis Manor for taking care of my dad, Ewen Yap for the past year. From yourself, John, Johnny, Steven, Constance, Catherine, Rosey, Ken, Myo myo, David, Sharon, Teo, and all the other lovely staff, you have made my father feel so comfortable and well looked after that he is constantly telling us how everyone is so good to him : cleaning him gently and thoroughly, massaging his swollen legs, talking to him, soothing him when he’s in pain etc…
The comfort this brings to my family and I is indeed immeasurable. We took a long time when searching for a nursing home for my dad as he is a man of immense independence and having others look after him was not something he could easily accept. But you and your staff have managed to ease him into receiving assistance while maintaining his dignity and we thank you greatly for this.
I feel Singapore is lacking in good and warm geriatric nursing care and Charis Manor has been such a good experience for us that I will definitely recommend your home to others in need.
I wish everyone great success and good health. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking such wonderful care of our father, you have made this journey so much more pleasant and reassuring.
With warmest regards and gratitude,
Fiona Yap (Daughter of our Resident)

Caregiver course Singapore – Caring, or being a ‘care worker,’ ‘caregiver,’ ‘carer,’ or ‘home health aide,’ is another term for caregiving. In essence, it is attending to an elderly or handicapped person’s daily requirements, such as ensuring that they are fed, washed, take their medications, and have some social engagement. The need for caretakers has risen as populations, particularly in Western nations, age and individuals live longer than ever before. A caregiver usually stays with their client or patient in their home or helps family throughout the day. Working as a live-in caregiver pays better, but it’s also more stressful and lonely.
As a result, looking after yourself is equally as vital as looking after your customer. Practical seminars on how to monitor your stress levels and manage psychologically have been added. The class aims to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to assist the elderly in their daily activities of living.
